Computer science assignment – effectiveness of the hotel booking
The major business objectives and processes of the hotel company are to increase bookings, maximize revenue, create customer loyalty and satisfaction, optimize their operations for efficiency, improve staff performance through training and development opportunities, track investments and costs efficiently.
To achieve these objectives they have implemented various information systems such as an online booking system that allows customers to book rooms from anywhere in the world with easy payment options; a customer service/loyalty program that rewards customers for repeat purchases by providing discounts or special offers; an automated key card system for added security; a reservation management system that tracks booking rates; a budget tracking system which keeps track of expenses incurred during different periods of time; an inventory control system which helps manage stocks of materials used in the hotel maintenance process.
In my observation scenarios I observed how users interacted with the system as registered members when carrying out tasks activities such as making reservations, modifying existing reservations (adding food orders etc.), cancelling existing reservations or requesting refunds etc., using user profiles to store personal data related to upcoming visits like passport details etc., accessing promotional offers available or earning points/reward credits based on staying multiple times at same property..Meanwhile temporary members engaging similar activities however without actual registration i.e. providing name & contact details only when asked either for check-in purpose exclusively OR thru interim payment agreement setup similar way too.
