Limited circumduction is a condition where the patient has limited movement of the shoulder joint, usually limited to one direction (in this case it would be left arm).
Kyphosis is a curving inwards of the spine and can be seen visually as a rounding or stooping of the posture and/or an excessive arching in the mid- and low back when viewed from behind or side profile. In older adults, kyphosis may be caused by various factors such as poor posture, osteoporosis or arthritis.
The nurse should explain to her that due to spinal compression associated with kyphosis, over time her vertebrae compress together causing her height to decrease.
Bone density testing of the hip can indicate if there are any signs of osteoporosis which would most likelybe related to the increasing pain she has been experiencing along with decreased mobility in her left arm due to muscle weakness on that side as well as loss in range of motion potentialy caused by degenerative joint changes from arthritis inflammation inside joints.
