Healthcare environment factors and management in health service | DDHA 8450 – Project and Resource Management in Integrated Systems | Walden University
The health care environment factor that I selected is technology implementation. Technology can be a powerful tool for improving the efficiency and effectiveness of an HSO’s systems management approach, but there are also challenges associated with it.
Technology implementation often requires significant changes to existing processes and procedures, which can require time and effort as well as financial investment. Additionally, if the technology being implemented has not been carefully chosen or tested beforehand, there is a risk of incompatibilities between different components or unforeseen technical problems that could cause delays in operations or reduce its usefulness.
In my current HSO where I have worked since 2018, we have struggled to implement new technologies due to inadequate information-sharing protocols between departments which has created issues with user interfaces and data compatibility across platforms. This lack of communication has meant that our progress towards increasing efficiency through technological advancements has been slower than expected despite considerable resources allocated towards these initiatives.
