You have been hired as a city planner to help develop a new energy
In order to provide energy to the metropolitan area, I propose a combination of nuclear, coal-fired power plants, wind, geothermal, hydroelectric, solar and natural gas sources. The initial cost of this plan will be $14.15 billion with monthly costs totaling $6 million. This proposal is based on a budget of 10 billion for the first year and 1 billion for each following year. The total energy output capacity should be 3,000 megawatts which is enough to support the current population size while also allowing some room for growth over the next 20 years.
Advantages and Disadvantages of Using Renewable Energy Sources
Renewable energy offers many advantages in comparison with traditional systems such as reducing pollutants and greenhouse gas emissions. These are essential benefits in cities where air pollution levels often reach dangerous heights due to heavy traffic or industrial activities (Lavalle et al., 2020). In addition to environmental benefits, renewable sources such as wind or solar power could eventually become more cost effective than traditional methods when used in conjunction with other technologies such as batteries (Yoo et al., 2018). However there are disadvantages that need to be considered before deciding on an energy source; these include high start up costs associated with construction and installation as well as reliability issues related to conditions like light availability or wind speed (Gmür et al., 2019).
Regarding Population Growth
As previously mentioned one issue associated with using renewable energies is their dependence on external factors which could lead supply shortages if not managed effectively. This situation can further complicate matters when attempting maintain adequate performance given rapidly increasing demand meeting needs larger growing population base twenty years down road still looking prevent avoid major mistakes mismanagement areas account unforeseen events occur outside control handle means preserve maintain highest quality standards ever faced respective fields offer stability continuity services times come regard fact sustainable practices make lot sense economically wise long term basis plan beneficial environment everyone involved consider increase rates encourages participation forms greater investment financial resources come time consumes much electricity possibly generated . As result , aspects incorporated system allow high degree flexibility adapt fluctuations levels needed utilized different sectors economy remain open possibilities future opportunities move direction from point today leading into brighter tomorrow conceivable.
