This paper will analyze a health care challenge using Evidence Based Practice(EBP). Evidence-based practice is a combination of clinical expertise, patient preference and best available research that guides decision making in order to provide optimal patient care (Centers for Disease Control & Prevention, 2020). This procedure requires that healthcare professionals complete various steps throughout their process starting by asking a relevant question related to a specific population all the way through evaluating outcomes. In this paper I will discuss certain aspects present within each step followed by my conclusion describing strategies to disseminate outcomes maintain evidence-based practice improvements through collaboration with professionals in health care and other fields as well as promote a culture of evidence across organizational boundaries.

The PICO(T) question for this scenario is: “What impact does implementing nurse residency programs have on decreasing burnout rates among new nurses?” Due to limited experience new nurses are more likely than more experienced counterparts to fall prey to fatigue associated with long shifts leading them be vulnerable targets for burnout symptoms such as depression and anxiety (Rothberg et al., 2016). With this issue in mind we can begin Step 5: Evaluating Outcomes by formulating relevant data so evaluation can take place where nursing interventions may be effective at reducing profession associated stressors like those mentioned before while improving supportive functions reducing workloads related suffering due specifically those working within acute hospital settings (Fernández-Merchant et al., 2017; Rothberg et al., 2016 ). After collecting baseline data centering around professional dissatisfaction levels via survey administration it was found that overall retention increased over time indicating possible positive outcomes towards addressing our PICO(T) Question (Vila Health Simulation Media Player 10/19).
