These texts explore the truth of God’s existence and religion. Their views all agree that the meaning of life and its events have equal significance, regardless of where they came from. Both writers agree that there are many aspects of life, including suffering and sin. Each interpretation of the purpose and meaning of life is different. Craig (2008) states that, without God life would cease to be meaningful. Craig (2008) argues in his paper that people’s lives and fates are determined by blind chance. As a result their death is just as meaningful as their birth. Craig claims that God grants immortality, and therefore, meaning to our existence. Being alive beyond death is what distinguishes human beings from other animals. It gives people purpose and allows them to live moral lives.
Contra Jesus by Richard Dawkins claims that the only way to find meaning in life is through suffering and sorrow (Thomas 2018, 2018). Both Neo-Darwinism as well the teachings Jesus say that suffering and anguish are essential for success in life. Gene alterations, which can cause persistent health problems or other issues, may be used to help people survive. Jesus also suffered so that the world might be saved. Dew and Gould (2019) argue that God’s freedom is what gives meaning to existence. The writers claim that there is no evil simply because God cannot or will not eradicate it. It exists due to the freedom granted by God to creatures, including supernatural entities like angels.
