Being in a culture that is hostile to you can be detrimental. There are many questions that can be asked to determine if someone is a pariah. An individual’s character is not affected by being an outsider. The society has created labels that can be applied to individuals. The skin color and origin of a person has reduced their humanity.
The experience of walking through tunnels with heated steam and two entrances was boring. Exiting the building was an exciting experience. It was evident that hair and skin color had been altered. All of the victims had light blonde hair. Many people exchanged shocked looks. Unable to classify a neighbor either as black or white, Most people address one another by their names, not by race or skin color. Education was not based on race or ethnicity; it was a community. It was a privilege to be able to walk through gardens which were once only open to whites. While the experience was not rewarding for me personally, it did show how much trust there is among people. They were kind to one another. This was a place I had hoped to find in the United States.
It was the most disappointing thing I had ever experienced. It was like the white bullies who have always bullied my because I am black. The dream I had imagined would come true. Racism had a negative impact on my education experience. It was hard to identify as “different” members of society because you have a different skin tone.
