Project Search in Coffee County, Tennessee aims to increase the number of individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities being employed. The Americans with Disabilities Act bans discrimination in the workplace against persons with disabilities. However, these individuals have maintained relatively stable employment rates for many years. There is evidence that many individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities don’t understand the ADA and some companies still hold negative attitudes towards disabled people. Project Search’s purpose is to increase the skills and employment of people with intellectual or developmental disabilities. It also aims at improving the attitudes of employers towards hiring these individuals and encouraging them to collaborate with others.
Population & location of interest

Third, the program’s objective is to improve employers’ perceptions about recruiting and working alongside people with developmental and intellectual disabilities.
4. The goal is to increase the employment rate of participants.
Program design
Its goal is to improve the employment rate for people with intellectual disabilities. It will include two parts: 1) an on-site course in employability skills; and 2) a 3-month internship at Unit Medical Center. Many tasks will need to be completed throughout the course. There will be four weeks of teaching in the classroom, and then there will come a three-month internship. The assessments for the program are done immediately after successful completion, or six months later.
Evaluating plan
Both internal and external evaluations will be done to evaluate Project Search. Both the internal and external evaluators will be recruited or hired using grant cash. Stakeholders will have a number of options to use the results or findings of the assessment. To begin with, the grant agency uses the results of the assessment for evaluating whether or not they will be financially able to fund future projects. It will also evaluate whether funds were used properly to accomplish the purposes and objectives of the projects.
