It is their responsibility to shape the future of their students. Teachers and instructors can be vulnerable to drugs due to their demanding jobs. If not addressed, the workplace of professionals can be a source of constant stress that may lead to dysfunctional behaviour. Teachers might resort to using drugs as a way of dealing with stress from work (Margaret, et. al. 19). 19). Teachers can be seen as leaders and fighters against student drug abuse, which makes it difficult for them to use drugs in their classrooms. Instructors using drugs can hinder the fight against drug misuse and even lead to increased drug use among students. Teacher with substance abuse issues could also have difficulty fulfilling their educational obligations. Teachers who use drugs to enhance their performance as educators can also be less effective in fighting student drug abuse. Drug misuse by teachers can have a negative impact on the academic performance of students and institutions. The society often regards professors and teachers highly. Many people assume that teachers are perfect. Drug addiction not only tarnishes the teaching profession but also hinders the delivery of instruction. Teachers may become more dependent on drugs and begin to miss classes, which can lead to a decrease in student achievement. By imitating professors, students may be influenced by their drug usage. Teachers and other instructors using drugs is an issue that affects the entire education industry. All stakeholders need to be aware of it. The use of drugs by teachers should be banned as it can affect the schools’ integrity and function as information dissemination sites. The care of children as young as three-years old is the responsibility of teachers (Kearns 2). This would make it irresponsible for teachers to allow drug use to be normalized in the presence of these young pupils. Uninhibited teachers in class would spread the false message of drug dependence to teens and older children. The prevalence of drugs among teachers should alarm parents and school officials, along with law enforcement. Teachers should be role models and uphold the highest ethical standards. Educational institutions are there to provide information for students. Professors who are addicted to drugs may have a significant impact on the information students learn from their school. Students may feel compelled to do the same and may even be attracted by the lure of this vice. Everybody, including children and government officials should be worried about instructors using drugs.
