My participation in the community initiative was very satisfying. I gained unique insights into the dynamics and problems of the job. I was able to see the issues of homeless people in society and the amazing altruism displayed by those who work tirelessly to help the most vulnerable. I contributed by creating PowerPoint presentations, and arranging a Zoom interview to Captain Patrishia. My team members and I collaborated to develop the survey questions, as well as organize the data that we collected. We wanted to assess the extent to which the Salvation Army assisted with addressing homelessness within society. We were attracted to the Salvation Army Murfreesboro in Tennessee and the Salvation Army USA. I had the rare chance to discover about the history and policies of Salvation Army, as well as its humanitarian impact on American society. Through the whole trip I was able to see the scale of the problem of homelessness and how the Salvation Army has made extraordinary efforts in reducing its impact.
Since I worked hard and was dedicated to my tasks, I am a good team player. I was able to assure that I didn’t miss any deadlines. Time was an essential component of the job. Because of my problems, I didn’t want to disappoint my coworkers. From this perspective, it is clear that I believe the experience was essential in helping me acquire the skills required to manage time and complete multiple jobs within a given time frame. It was crucial that we were able to schedule interviews and make appointments with the resource people who would be contributing to our project. Aeon et. al.,2021, states that time is an important factor in the success of many groups. My assumption was that time management would help us achieve our goals. We were satisfied with every detail because we didn’t face any challenges that could have hindered our goal.
It is my belief that I have contributed significantly to the realization of the objectives. My work was of high quality and I wanted to make sure that the project’s objectives were met. My PowerPoint presentations were high quality and presented well.
