The Research Method (Questions 1-5).
Scope: This paper uses a microsociological methodology to analyze the relationships between crime and race. The focus is on the characteristics and global impacts of racial inequalities.
Asking questions:
Question 1: Is it possible to increase offensive behaviour among black men if you have had racial prejudice?
2. The purpose of this study is to investigate how minority resilience can be affected by racial discrimination or other harmful factors
Examine the strategies employed by ERS to minimize the criminogenic implications of racial discrimination against African Americans.
Show a comparative gender analysis of the data concerning criminogenic behaviours among African Americans.
1. Criminal behavior that is based on racial discrimination has more severe consequences for males than it does for females.
Cultural socialization could have a negative relationship to delinquency or the CKS
4. Condition of hypotheses/research goals: The research questions were clearly stated in the introduction to the research publication. The hypothesis was not provided. I was asked to build it using the identified study goals and questions.
5. Methodology: longitudinal research design- 6. Apropriateness is required for the strategy to be effective.
7. Establish a statistical relationship with data within a population.
Research Planning Components (Questions 6-10)
8. Variables:
Dependent variables: Delinquency
Independent factors include control for past results, Racial discrimination and age, cultural socialization, preparation for prejudice, authoritative parenting, Criminogenic information structure, Discrimination Control, as well as Age, Race, Socialization, Culture, Preparation to prejudice and Authoritative Parenting. Variables include the age of youth, primary caregiver, education level, gender, and main caregiver race.
9. Operational Definitions: The author gave a detailed explanation of the dependent variables and their measurements.
Participants’ choice: Author certifies that all data collected was from Iowan and Georgia residents. This project focused on examining how resources and dangers can affect or improve the development of African American adolescents in different circumstances. Wave technique was used by the researcher to collect data. The first wave included 897 African American households. Wave 4 included residents from urban, suburban and metropolitan areas. A sample size was calculated for each state at 650 caregivers/children. Data for different waves between 1998 and 2007 were collected in the corresponding years (pg. 534).
11. Demographic data: Ideal demographic data was used to accurately represent the population. It was correctly classified by location, age and gender.
Validity/reliability: The author assumes that the respondents presented their information accurately. Additionally, there were instances of racial bias. Diane Hughes’s tools and those of her coworkers by researchers have a high level of validity and reliability (pg. 547).
