International connections have been boosted by technological advances in the transport and communications sector. Globalization has made it possible for people to connect, travel, and conduct business worldwide without having to be restricted by geographical boundaries. Others argue that globalization causes problems such as joblessness and income losses due to offshore production. These arguments are valid, but it is important to consider the benefits of global connections between corporations and individuals.
Globalization has facilitated the flow of technology and information, which in turn improves productivity. Contractor 2017 shows how many businesses have seen their production costs drop due to better manufacturing techniques. It is a great thing, as there are many regions (e.g. emerging countries) whose growth was severely impeded by outdated technology and lack of information. The globalization of information has allowed individuals to access technology locally and made it easier for them to use that information. From a global citizen perspective, it is cruel to hinder the development of these areas. Globalization removes the need for people to migrate from one country to another because of economic hardship.
Like all business strategies, globalization comes with its own set of drawbacks. In industrialized countries, offshore outsourcing and other strategies have been problematic. American multinational corporations that move overseas can cause tax loss in many countries (including the United States) Hill, 2022. This can be a problem, especially in the areas of unemployment and income. But, it is concerning that some nations such as the United States may have laws that allow for uncontrollable corporate activities. They must stop assuming that they’re supereconomies, and instead embrace global competition.
Even though there are some criticisms of globalization, the main factor is that member states adopt particular operational frameworks. Individuals will always seek a bigger market and ways to improve their production. Global trade agreements will not be easy to terminate.
