Covid-19, a fatal infection of the respiratory tract that can cause severe illness and death, is known as. The illness was first discovered in Wuhan (China) in March 2020. It has since spread rapidly and is a continuing global pandemic. The illness has led to significant health problems and even death in many countries around the world. All ages are affected by the virus. Self-isolation, wearing masks, and social distance are the basic methods of preventing the spread of the Covid-19 virus (Brett & Rohani, 2020). The global transmission rate of Covid-19 virus has decreased since its discovery.
Experts remain divided two years after discovering the virus. A condition where a large number of people become immune to the virus through vaccinations or previous exposure. The disease’s infectiousness determines how many people must become immune in order to safeguard the population. Researchers disagree about the amount of “herd immunity” to the Covid-19 virus. Others claim it’s 81%, 70% or 68%. (Aschwanden, 2021). The ratio varies between communities depending on vaccination priorities and the vaccine.
The majority of people become immune to the virus within a couple of weeks. Experts are not sure how long that immunity lasts. While most people who are infected get mild-to-moderate forms of the disease, some suffer severe symptoms and others don’t show any signs. Covid-9 may return to other countries due to the high rate of recurrence. Moreover, the Covid-19 vaccinations efficiently prevent the disease’s symptoms, but it is unknown if they prevent the disease’s spread (Brett & Rohani, 2020). Scientists will struggle to understand the Covid-19 immunity and determine its duration.
