The globalization and rapid growth of society has made multicultural awareness more essential. There is a wider range of cultures available to students today. Therefore, instructors must be able to help students understand and appreciate different cultures. Multicultural awareness promotes empathy, respect and appreciation for other cultures. It also serves as a foundation for understanding and appreciating the values and cultures of others (Vega et. al. 2018, 2018). Preconceptions can be destroyed or eradicated by such an understanding in a culture. Multicultural awareness enables students to see beyond the limitations of their culture and learn from other cultures. These students will be able to acquire languages, increase marketability and compete in the global marketplace by being enrolled in such areas of higher education. In general multicultural consciousness is something everyone must embrace to help build an integrated social zone and promote social cohesion.
Multicultural awareness breaks down barriers between people of different cultures. A more understanding and open-minded society can be created when people are exposed to many cultures. This may increase appreciation of many cultures. This method identifies priority issues and highlights the challenges that cultural interaction faces in recent years (Dameron and al., 2020). The intercultural connection between cultural diversity and cultural similarities is key to intercultural communication. It also allows for the resolution of any obstacles that could arise between two cultures when they talk. The twenty-first century’s globalization has led to new obstacles hindering intercultural understanding. Since effective communication in global settings is crucial, it has been more important to consider cultural and language differences. Cultural dispositions can have a negative impact on intercultural communication. Multiculturalism awareness from a sociological viewpoint is important.
