Because of the technological developments and ecommerce transactions, many institutions are forced to devise complex cost systems to take advantage big data. Cost systems allow firms to track their expenses and increase profits. The design of current cost systems is complicated due to the growth of ecommerce and the virtualization of business practices (Zhong et. al. 2020). The modern company system must include online services such as drop shipping, tracking and delivery. Contrary to conventional operations that were based only on traditional practices and didn’t use business analytics for strategic decisions, modern methods are built on the internet. Complex business systems are required for revenue forecasting and cost monitoring. For executives to make decisions about operational and strategic outcomes, they must have cost systems that are able to store, analyze, and access large quantities of data. Managers can use this data to create strategies to reduce and decrease overhead expenses, while maximising profit margins. Big data analytics can be a competitive advantage. Complex systems that use real-time data from the market to predict trends and compete with their competitors are able to do so by using reliable data.
Additionally, modern companies have moved to low-cost commodity production, which gives managers more insight into their production efficiency. The traditional structure of conventional firms was bureaucratic and hierarchical, with central company processes. This hierarchical structure restricted autonomy and required managers to obtain services from the headquarters. Organizations of modern times have adopted divisional, or halocracy structures that give autonomy to their managers. These institutions replaced obsolete systems with complex ones that permit managers to understand and monitor the impact of factors on operational efficiency. The old method separated costs and variations, which made it difficult for managers to have a complete and comprehensive view of company expenditures (Yonpae and al., 2019,). Complex systems can be used in modern business because they enable data analysis, operational autonomy and spend management. This will improve financial sustainability.
