Netflix Company was able analyze and discover the purchasing habits of customers. It also made investments in big data analytics to support the second phase. The company can now recommend television shows to its subscribers based on what they like. This has made them to conduct custom marketing, for instance during the promotion of the ‘House of Cards’ show. Moreover, the use of big data and analytics has made the Netflix Company to succeed in expanding more distant markets in different countries by studying the customer’s preferences and the availability of the internet broadband in the geographies where it wants to expand.
