Strategic Leadership in Organizations – 400-500 words
Despite the massive growth in activity directed towards leadership development, little of this has been directed at the top level; instead, most activity has been focused on junior and middle levels of organizational leadership. A distinction is drawn between ‘leadership in organizations’ and ‘leadership of organizations’. It is essential that we identify the critical issues which relate specifically or especially to leadership at this level. One interrelated theme identified in the Storey text is functional issues… priorities, challenges, and problems that face leaders of whole organizations…
1. How do you or other leaders in your organization communicate the core values? Should this approach be used in education and human services environments? Discuss.
